Hiring Now For 911 Emergency Dispatcher!

Skagit 911 is looking for energetic and motivated individuals seeking a career in public safety! Skagit 911 hires individuals from all walks of life! Banker, cashier, plumber, firefighter, veteran, farmer - we've hired them all! No 911 dispatching or call-taking experience required!

What you’ll bring to the table:

High-performing computer/keyboard skills, a commitment to teamwork, desire to serve others, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to excel in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

In addition, you must:

 > Be a U.S. resident or authorized to work in the United States.
 > Be at least 18 years old when submitting your application.
 > Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
 > Have no pending charges for any criminal offenses.
 > Not be a convicted felon.
 > Be able to type at least fifty (50) words per minute.

What we offer:

Skagit 911 offers full-time, in-person positions only, located in our building at 2911 E College Way, Mount Vernon WA. Amenities include a full kitchen, workout room, and secured parking lot.
Scheduling that is ideal for maximizing time off. We currently offer 12-hour-shifts with a 3 days on/4 days off, 4 days on/3 days off shift configuration.

A starting wage of $23.78 and benefits (as of January 2022 when the position is projected to start). New hires begin as trainees and learn all the skills that they will need in-house. Once training is complete, you will earn $24.50 with yearly pay increases. We have a competitive benefits package, starting with 88 hours/year of vacation with yearly increases, 88 hours of paid holiday time, sick leave, health, dental, and vision insurance, a tax-advantaged Health Savings Account, DRS retirement, life insurance, and long-term disability insurance. The position is represented by SEIU Local 925.

The application process:

The first set of hiring tests will be on November 3rd and/or November 4th. Formal interviews will be held on November 17th.

Background Investigation, polygraph, credit check, drug test, hearing test, and fingerprint screening are required for successful candidates and will occur between November 17th and December 16th.

The hiring process will be completed by December 17th, with new hires beginning an academy in the first week of January 2022.
